Have you seen the coolest fan ever? Leave it to Dyson to create a fan with no blades. The official name is the Dyson Air Multiplier and comes in 3 colors and 2 sizes (10" & 12").

On a side note not sure how this review will be as I am using the WordPress app on an iPhone 4 while driving (passenger) so here goes..

What is cool about the fan
- amazing design with no blades
- no buffeting which means it's a constant flow of air versus a chopped fan blade design.
- air is multiplied by 15x as it's accelerated through an annular aperture (a jet of air)
- same concept as technology used in turbochargers and jet engines to produce powerful airflow
- brushless motor to save power
- on off button is led so you can see at night (very important to me)
- tilt design that won't fall over
- easy to clean
- dimmer speed control for that exact amount of air

Overall really impressed with dyson and now have to decide which one I want. My inclination is towards the 10" model in iron/blue. Which one do you like? You can buy it at J&R in NY here - Dyson 10" Air Multiplier Fan

Are you interested in having not only fantastic sound but something truly industrial and well-designed?These unique ceramic speakers from designer Joey Roth are made from porcelain, birch plywood, core aluminum and cast iron. Not your typical design and I really respect Joey for designing these.

What will they work with?

Basically anything with an output as the device has an RCA or 1/8" Input for iPods, iPhone, iPads, Laptops, TV and Turntable (if you're using a phono preamp)

Industrial Design

Ceramic speakers have a built-in 15W/channel amplifier encased in sheet metal

Amplifier based on the Tripath 2024 T-Amp with gold-plated binding posts

Sensitivity: 89 dB & Frequency 70 Hz – 20 kHz

Cast Iron base

16 gauge oxygen-free copper speaker cables w/ banana plug termination

120-240V system

Use of Cork is Impressive!

Closeup View (see the cool slider?)

In summary, I have to say that I really admire Joey Roth's design and can't wait to get my hands on a pair of the speakers! The cost is $495 and have the link to the site below.

Are you looking for more USB connections on your laptop or netbook without bringing along a USB hub? Recently, an iF concept award 2010 winner in China released a way to stack USB connections called InfiniteUSB. I love this idea!

With a variety of colors and ability to keep adding on this is an excellent addition to any mobile warrior. I know that my Macbook Pro has only 2 USB ports and if I use my Verizon mobile broadband on one port I can't use the other one. I'm not sure when this product will be available but expect it to be a big hit! In case you are wondering, if your stack goes to large you can buy a powered attachment to solve the issue (personally I just want a couple of these lines to solve some issues i have).

While I was writing the review on the $15 iHome portable speaker I went to the main iHome web site and saw something that just went onto my list for Santa (hear that big guy?). The iHome Studio Series iP1 is an amazing speaker system for your iPhone or iPod that was developed by Bongiovi Acoustics (not Bon Jovi!). The concept of studio quality music coupled with the iPhone is a growing niche and love flexibility of internet radio.

What makes it Cool?

Bongiovi Acoustics is a patented technology that constantly scans your audio to restore harmonics and clarity lost to compression in today's music. Now this is a really important point as MP3 is a compressed audio format so this must be a nice improvement!

What are the flaws?

The first flaw of the device is that although extremely sleek in appearance the company choose to include a large power brick that based on the reviews makes portability not a true option. Although may not be a big deal for many it is for me so have to downgrade the system just for that move. So if you don't plan on moving the device than non issue but wanted to address it. The second issue was discovered on another review that spoke about less than perfect picture quality using the video out function to HDTV. The picture quality is not a deal breaker for me so still like this unit.

About Bongiovi Acoustics DPS (Digital Power Station) (from site)
The processor was developed by a team of audio engineers that have over 40 years of experience in the music and motion picture recording industries. Audio is digitally restored in real time, adding missing harmonics, improving clarity, presence, and bass resonance. Your music comes alive in ways never before possible. (Sounds great guys!)

Back of the Unit

Note the Component Video (yes it solves the issue of bridging your iPhone/iPod content to your TV)

Line in (essential for integrating Sirius into this)

AC Jack (although would love a battery it is better w/o)

Technical Specs

Stereo, 2 way, bi-amped with digital crossover

(2) 4" wooferswith custom glass fiber diaphragms

(2) 1" tweeter

Digital Amp - class-D

100 Watt

45 - 20,000 frequency hz

Remote control

Overall a fun and useful portable speaker for personal and business use (not the portable unit you take on the road with you). With a great sound, iphone integration and ability to work with multiple devices via input I recommend it.

How’s your web cam? One of the challenges of web cameras are that they have fixed focus ranges, need a base and don’t acommodate for up close views (up to 2” away). Ipevo has solved this with the new Point 2 View (P2V) USB camera. This is my 2nd review of IPEVO products and love the quality & design! 2 Video Reviews Below!

I wanted to first thank, Jeff Yen from IPEVO for sending me a unit to test. At first glance it seems very high tech with it’s heavy base, swing arm and 3 attachment points at the top. The concept is that the 2MB camera can be mounted based on your needs - whether on base or attached to your monitor. For example, if you are using Skype you can show a drawing up close or a part of something with excellent clarity.

Enhanced Video Review of IPEVO P2V Web Camera (link to video)
More comprehensive with close-ups and software testing by Michael Vorel

Original Video Review of IPEVO Point 2 View Handheld Web Cam (link to video)

What makes it Cool!

Works on PC or Mac

USB 2.0 so self powered

Up to 2" (5cm) macro focus

3x digital zoom (I didn’t use this)

Video images can be captured at 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution

Weighted base is really nice you can get that angle you want (and reduce shake)

Clip for monitor to hold camera in sleek design

Just fun to use

Use with base and projector and your live demo becomes a productivity tool for sharing

Only $69!

3 Camera Modes to work in

Camera Mode - set by default to show live video feed, focus and take pictures

Review Mode - displays pictures in thumbnails so you can review and organize them. You have the ability to edit, copy or delete.

Full Screen Mode - perfect for presentations as you move into full screen on PC or Mac and gives that interactive display you know is useful!

What do the buttons do on the camera?

Snapshot (1st) when holding the unit you push the button near front of camera lens (or hit return on keyboard) to take photo.

Focus (2nd) puts a box inside the image and creates a point of focus.

AF (3rd) is autofocus - with option to switch between autofocus or continuous.

Close Up Shots using the camera

100% View

300x View

Close Up of Products

What I would Like added to future products like this

Video recording (I know i can use other software but why not include). If recording video - The best-case frame rate is 30fps for 320×240 and 640×480 resolution and 15fps for higher resolutions. Please note that the actual frame rate varies, depending on the computer’s processing power.

Light to illuminate the object you are viewing close (if needed)

Ability to send images to email, social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube (if video))

Overall a fun and useful handheld web cam for personal and business use. With a sleek pivoting design, ability to mount to monitor or use in hand, easy setup on PC/Mac I give it 2 Thumbs Up!

As an avid user of Skype for phone calls I have been on the hunt to review an Ethernet “hard-wired” desktop phone and IPEVO S0-10 is the answer! I recently wrote a review on the Top 10 Skype Phones and wanted to highlight just this Skype phone as I love it!

I wanted to first thank, Jeff Yen from Ipevo for sending me a unit to test. From the moment I opened the box I was so excited to get testing on this and already shot my video review! As a gadget guy who often skips reading manuals I was able to plug in the Skype phone, input the time/date and my Skype user name / password in minutes. I tend to skip product manuals because in a previous life I was a product manager at a computer company and really didn’t like creating those! I prefer pictures to text.

My Video Review of Ipevo Skype Desktop Phone (link to video)

The Skype Formula
To maximize the concept you need to pay $30 to (Skype.com) for unlimited calling in US & Canada and once you have your user name and password you can use the phone. I say this because paid services on Skype are the cleanest sounding and allows you to dial regular phone numbers. The beauty of this is I may receive a phone message on my iphone and choose to call back a client on the IPEVO phone without using valuable minutes. When the client receives the call the caller ID shows my cell# and everything is working as it should!

What makes it Cool!

No computer is needed (Yes!)

Ethernet Ready – just plug into your router or modem to use

Design Ascetics – sleek black design that looks sharp on your desk

Fully Integrated with Skype – all your contacts show in the screen

Large 2.4” Color Screen that is bright, adjustable and easy to read

Built In CPU – Marvell PXA270

Low Power Consumption

Speakerphone – very handy feature

Speed Dial Keys (haven’t tried but seems obvious)

International – You can pack this in your suitcase and setup conference calls in your hotel room without worrying about phone charges!

Multi-Language – pick your flavor – English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, etc.

Comes with a USB port for updating the phone

What would I like added to future designs

Headphone Jack (I like to use headsets and hard wired insures better sound quality)

Bluetooth (might be useful with multi-port action so I can use the Plantronics Voyager Pro with It)

Default battery to remember user name/password when power is interrupted

Just In - update from IPEVO Engineering! That was Fast!

Meet the Sony Vaio Signature Collection CS390 Notebook – with faux crocodile skin and gold accents it’s really unique. Personally I am not lining up for this laptop but with only 300 in production it creates a sense of need (right?). At 2.8Ghz with dual core processor it features a 14.1 xBrite Sony screen supports to 8GB of ram and 400GB harddrive. Starting at $779 it can reach $1800+ with blu-ray and other add-ons.

My gut feel is that this is a regular CS model with some extra trim and the only reason I am posting this is because the crocodile is cool.

Check out the other designs:

And, if you want to be one of the 300 and send me a little $$ you can buy this here, Shop the official Sony store for exclusive products & services, special offers and savings.

I recently video reviewed an HDMI cable from Optimized Cable Company and wanted to follow up with a post. As HD video continues to take control of our lives (HDTV, Blu-Ray, Computers) you are going to need more of these HDMI cables and apparently not are all equal. The original cable vs. gold plated (new one).

Now let me preface that I am not an expert on HDMI so if you are please comment below and encourage the feedback.

I was very excited to receive the HDMI cable from Optimized Cable Company to review (thank you!) and really liked it. I compared it against my current HDMI cables and the picture quality was noticeably tighter on my Sony 1080P HDTV monitor. At only $12.99 this cable handles 480 to 1440P and encourage you to check out your cables today. At first glance the cable seemed larger in diameter and with gold plating was more impressive. It’s funny to think of all the money you can spend on a HDTV and the picture quality can change with just a cable swap. I was using the one that Verizon Fios installed and encourage you to test cables for yourself.

Don’t you enjoy a cool beer? Me too and Krups Beertender 95 is on my shopping list. My wife feels I don’t need it but I think otherwise . This gadget will chill those mini kegs of Heineken and provide a first rate chilled draught beer at home. What’s cool (literally) is that the beer stays fresh for up to 30 days and has a cool tap to start the beer stream. Let the games begin and comment on this..

Wait a minute – was reading the instructions an apparently you must drink Heineken or this won’t work out for you. Personally I like Heineken so no worries but I point out this funny diagram:

Apparently if you don’t follow the instructions (prior to drinking the beer) you can avoid serious injuries! Good luck!

Wait – Most important Part – Turn it On!
