I have been running since June and recently invested in the Nike+ SportBand to work with my Nike Vomero IV running shoes. The $59 device is amazing and includes the shoe insert that fit right into my Nike’s. Now I can review my pace, time and calories burned while I run, see the results online and love it. I shot a video review that can be found here as well.

What’s Cool About It!

The watch is made from rubber and seems built well.

You wear it upside down on your wrist so when running you lift your arm up to read. I think it’s so you see the Nike Logo on your wrist but actually works better.

The Watch part is detachable and is basically a water resistance USB plug design.

Automatic battery recharge when Nike+ Link is plugged into your computer

The watch face has one LCD with readings that can change by pushing the lower button on bottom edge of the watch.

The one large button is used to start the recording, pause and stop.

When you complete your run you hold down the large button for 3 seconds and it records the data in the watch.

Of special note – the Nike+ SportBand memory saves 30 hours' worth of your workouts for review which is good for when you are running on say a business trip!

Video Review of Nike+ SportBand (video link)

After Your Run

Upon returning from your run, you pull the watch part off the wrist band and insert into your PC or MAC. I use my MacBook Pro for this and automatically pulls up your Nike+ account (nikeplus.com ) and loads your run. Note - Requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, Windows Vista, or Windows XP (SP2) Home or Professional and needs fast Internet access since heavy application to load.

In a few seconds your run appears on the screen and you can review your pace, calories burned, time and distance.

If you click See all Runs you can see a chart of your runs and compare them.

Inside you can set goals and challenges, run 5k, 10k, etc. and includes full training references and automatic settings to push yourself.

Screen Shots from Nike+ Account

Shows the Individual Run and Pace

Overall, an excellent product and lots of fun. I run 3 times a week and never leave the house without it!

-

At first look I appreciated the Rolex Milgauss Oyster Perpetual Watch design. Upon further inspection I realized it is resistant to a magnetic flux density of 1,000 gauss. Ok, who was this built for? Ahh, power plants and research labs, Radiologists? Anyway regardless of magnetic fields, I really like this watch and is self winding, waterproof to 100 meters and a very sharp watch by Rolex!

Did you know this is special steel?
It’s 904 Steel and usually this quality steel is used for the chemical industry where maximum resistance against corrosion is essential. All stainless steel Rolex watches are made this way. The 904L is a super alloy and extremely tough and highly polishable.

I have the Tissot T-Touch watch in Titanium on my wrist as I type this post. As a gadget addict I came across this watch and was marveled by what it can do. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is touch activated and has a compass, barometer, timer, alarm, thermometer and altimeter all built into it. When activated the hands move to resemble a compass with North and South and very handy.

They have various models to choose from and I preferred the Titanium for it’s lightweight design and strength.

I made a video opening the Flip Cam HD that you can check out. Also made a video using the Flip Cam HD so you can see the difference in quality, features and what’s in the box.
serious gadget collectors to families to capture those video moments. With 4GB flash memory, 60 min recording it’s great! The operation is very simple, you take out of the box and set the time/date and start shooting. I replaced my Sanyo Xacti 720 HD digital camcorder with this and already very pleased with results. The top has a flip out arm extension for USB and microphone in the front is very strong and accurate. I use a tripod or monopod to extend my arms reach when putting myself in the video, and yes I have a video of that as well! For the software it loaded automatically and had a simple editing tool and ability to merge films together to make a larger movie and import MP3 tracks for Music. If you are interested in buying the Flip Cam HD click this link as I receive credit! The Flip Store

This Breitling watch has always fascinated me as it has a tiny antenna that unscrews from the bottom of the watch face and can signal a search and rescue team. Breitling designed it for an emergency situation for pilots and aircrew members (who have a lot of money) by including a built in micro-transmitter at 121.5 MHz to mimic a aircraft emergency beacon.

It broadcasts for 48 hours and after that you are on your own like Tom Hanks! Over Flat Land it will transmit 100 miles. If I had a plane I would buy it!
