Stumble itAs an avid user of Skype for phone calls I have been on the hunt to review an Ethernet “hard-wired” desktop phone and IPEVO S0-10 is the answer! I recently wrote a review on the Top 10 Skype Phones and wanted to highlight just this Skype phone as I love it!
I wanted to first thank, Jeff Yen from Ipevo for sending me a unit to test. From the moment I opened the box I was so excited to get testing on this and already shot my video review! As a gadget guy who often skips reading manuals I was able to plug in the Skype phone, input the time/date and my Skype user name / password in minutes. I tend to skip product manuals because in a previous life I was a product manager at a computer company and really didn’t like creating those! I prefer pictures to text.

The Skype Formula
To maximize the concept you need to pay $30 to (Skype.com) for unlimited calling in US & Canada and once you have your user name and password you can use the phone. I say this because paid services on Skype are the cleanest sounding and allows you to dial regular phone numbers. The beauty of this is I may receive a phone message on my iphone and choose to call back a client on the IPEVO phone without using valuable minutes. When the client receives the call the caller ID shows my cell# and everything is working as it should!

- International – You can pack this in your suitcase and setup conference calls in your hotel room without worrying about phone charges!
- Multi-Language – pick your flavor – English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, etc.
- Comes with a USB port for updating the phone
What would I like added to future designs
- Headphone Jack (I like to use headsets and hard wired insures better sound quality)
- Bluetooth (might be useful with multi-port action so I can use the Plantronics Voyager Pro with It)
- Default battery to remember user name/password when power is interrupted
Just In – update from IPEVO Engineering! That was Fast!
“Hello Michael, I just had a meeting with our engineering team and have some updates for you. S0-10 does not have a default battery in there, however, the new firmware will detect user’s location by their IP address. So the time and date will be set accordingly automatically, which users will no longer need to manually input them every time after unplugging S0-10.”
Overall a “killer desktop Skype Phone” With a sleek design, easy setup and full phone functionality I give it 2 Thumbs Up!
