FLO TV | Amazing Portable TV Review
It takes a great gadget to wow me these days and I have found it! For the last 2 weeks I have been testing FLO TV (personal television) and really into it. The portable touchscreen TV with integrated stand is the size of an iPhone and receives live TV via MediaFLO 716-722 MHz aka UHF TV ch 55/56. Read the full review, watch the FLO TV Video Review & let me know your thoughts!

An important point is that all programing comes from FLOTV vs. HDTV.
What I liked about FLO TV Personal Television
- Size - Excellent size that fits in your pocket without bulk (4.4"L x 2.5"W x 3.1"H)
- Screen Quality - 3.5” QVGA screen is crystal clear and brightness is not a factor
- Touchscreen Display - Really nice to select programs with your finger
- HTC Design - they make great designs and shows in this gadget
- 24/7 Nationwide Programming - 15 channels of entertainment is amazing and hard to say nothing is on!
- 6-month FLO TV programming subscription is included, so you can start viewing your favorite shows on the go right away! Apparently, they Qualcomm technology for sending data to portable receiver. The network is different than a cell frequency as its UHF and really clear.
- Popular Channels - CNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, Disney, ESPN, Fox, MSNBC, MTV, ABC. (What's great is that in the morning you have what was popular last night on network tv in addition to a regular schedule lineup)
- Built in Stand - Adjustable angle stand is part of the unit and supports it when setting on a table
- Sound Quality - Stereo speakers are loud and clear on the unit and when plugged into headphones or external speaker is even better (see below for a tip)
- Battery Life - 5 hours constant use and 300 standby is awesome (Lithium Ion)
- Instant On – Button on top right is the on/off switch and you can pause and restart quickly.
- Weight: 6.4 oz.
- AC adapter - Has small wall plug and long cord with with USB tip for convenience
- Other features: parental controls, includes headphones and cleaning cloth.

Watching Olympic Winter Games on FLO TV!
Where did I use the FLO TV over the last 2 weeks?
- Just about everywhere!
- I put it on my desk for CNBC and MSNBC live programing
- In the car to listen to Comedy Central
- At breakfast to catch up the Tonight Show
- During the day to see the Colbert Report, Family Guy and Olympics updates
- On business, took with me to Philadelphia for a flight and no it didn't work at 10,000 feet
- While working on my laptop I was able to watch some programs with earphones w/o bothering the family!
- Let my daughter and her friend use to watch Disney in the back seat.
What would I change to the product?
- I would redesign the stand so it covers the front screen to protect from scratches
- Integrate some way to pull from an online personal library that could stream to you
- Include a carrying case with rigid front to protect the screen
- Add texture or rubber to sides as it can be slippery to hold sometimes
- Make a holder for in the car (of course you shouldn't drive and watch the Family Guy!)
What did I add to FLO TV to make it even cooler?
The stereo speakers are nice to have on the unit but I wanted to experience fuller sound so I attached the headphone jack to the iHome portable speaker and now you have a combo! Not only does it support the unit the amplification of sound is essential when watching important shows like Family Guy!

Overall, a solid product and now it's time to put this baby back in the box to be sent back to FLO TV! (thanks FLO TV for letting me review) This really is a fun gadget to have and now I need to buy one!
